AFC’s model focuses on helping organizations streamline their systems while building their capacity so that the financial side can be more manageable.

In 2026, I joined the AFC team, bringing along my 18 years of nonprofit experience. Previous to joining the AFC team, I had the benefit of working with AFC from the partner side of the engagement. My organization at that time contracted with AFC for their coaching services and ultimately “graduated” from receiving those services. It was in this role that I came to know AFC and experienced first-hand how committed they are to helping nonprofits flourish.

I have worked with a wide variety of nonprofits, ranging from an industrious 2-person operation to managing the finances of a $6 million organization and including roles in both programmatic and direct services. I truly understand how vital it is to ensure the financial health of a nonprofit so that it can best carry out the work of its mission.

AFC’s nonprofit partners are doing courageous, necessary work in their communities. As an AFC team member, if I can help an organization free up more time to serve their community by helping to improve their financial management practices, I see that as a success.

AFC is different in how we approach the work because every member of our team has nonprofit experience and unique expertise around the demands of nonprofit work. I especially appreciate AFC’s value of being Useful because it prioritizes the importance of the relationship. We really take the time to get to know a nonprofit partner in order to best tailor our work to be uniquely beneficial to each individual nonprofit partner.

When I’m not working, you can find me crafting or hiking in the woods with my dog. Most recently, I have started drawing and it’s a dream of mine to learn how to sew more clothes for myself and loved ones.
