Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, AFC focuses first on the people and the existing strengths of the organization, and seeks to understand their unique opportunities and challenges.

Christine McCorkle  | Senior Associate

I join the AFC team with both for-profit and nonprofit experience in nearly every sort of accounting and finance role. These include Director of Finance and Controller, to Bookkeeper, Payroll Manager, Financial Analyst, Systems Implementation Manager. My formal education preceding these roles includes a BS from South Dakota State University and an MBA from the University of South Dakota.

I can closely relate to AFC’s value of transparency. Transparency into data, processes, policies, and systems is very important for financial independence and strength. Without transparency, our relationship with partners would be unbalanced toward dependency. AFC seeks to empower organizations through collaboration, and that requires ultimate transparency.

I'm most excited that through my work at AFC, I can share my strengths in accounting and finance with organizations that are making a positive impact in their communities, so that they can thrive.

Outside of my finance work, I have a passion for reading speculative fiction and sci-fi; if we can't dream about ways that the world can be changed for the better for all of us, we can't create that world! I also love spending time adventuring outdoors with my kids.
