Charmaine Keel | Grants Accounting Specialist

I joined Advisors for Change in 2021 with over 20 years experience managing government and private funding. I hold an AA in Accounting and a BS in Business Administration from Methodist University and am working towards a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management. I am a DHHS certified Grants Policy Specialist and have been fortunate to serve as a policy maker, funder, grantee, contractor and sub-recipient in government-funded programs. With this multifaceted experience, I have insight into how organizations can manage funding that requires a high degree of compliance with complicated rules.

My colleagues at AFC are patient, non-judgmental, kind, and helpful. With backgrounds from all walks of accounting life, our team has a wealth of knowledge that they are eager to share. There is a genuine desire to see nonprofits succeed.

AFC is determined to see nonprofits present accurate financial information to multiple audiences. When funders read accurate financial reports, it helps them see if the program is meeting its goals. It also creates a clearer picture of where the funds are making the most impact.

When I am not sifting through grant policies, I am preparing three young people to take on the world. Spending time outdoors with my family is one of my favorite pastimes, but spending time with me is priceless.
