Amy McPherson | CEO & Founding Partner
I have worked in nonprofit finance for almost 25 years. I have an MBA from Columbia University.
I love working with the folks on the front line of nonprofit organizations. It is very rewarding to help build capacity in organizations so they can focus on their mission feeling empowered and supported by their financial information.
I feel fortunate to have such a shared sense of purpose with my AFC team members and our nonprofit partners which keeps me motivated every day.
Sometimes it's a challenge to balance our four core values, all of which matter deeply. I think transparency is the key to making the other three values work. Transparency allows all stakeholders to understand the information they are seeing in a deeper way than just looking at numbers. At AFC, we have shifted our internal focus to transparency, which has made accomplishing the other three goals easier.
When I'm not advising for change I'm playing outside. I am a member of an adult horse-back riding team and yoga-lover.

At AFC, we are building a model of a great place to work that also does great work.

Barb Auld | Chief Financial Officer
I joined Advisors for Change in 2020 with 25 years of nonprofit experience in finance, administration, fundraising, programming, and marketing. My diverse experience helps me understand the varied priorities of nonprofit teams as they work to fulfill the mission.
Over the span of my career, I have worked with both small and large budgets and teams and enjoy designing processes and procedures that are responsive to the needs of the organization and its available resources. As a detail-oriented person, I value accuracy and aim to report information that illustrates the actual conditions so leaders can make decisions with confidence.
Once upon a time, I was that person who didn’t know anything about accounting and was thrown into it. I am confident that even those with little experience can excel with the right support. Accordingly, I love how AFC develops individuals working internally at its nonprofit partners to grow their financial management skills.
Since moving to NOVA, I have taken up cycling. I hope to break my record of cycling a metric century and cycle a full 100 miles! I also aspire to try every New England-style lobster roll I come across, as it reminds me of Cape Cod, my most favorite place.
